The
Roman's Road Starts At The Foot Of The Cross And Ends At
The Throne Of God!
None of us can live up to God's standards of righteousness on
our own! In Paul''s Epistle to the Romans, he offers a collection
of verses that give us a clear and structured path to Jesus Christ
- these have been labled The Roman's Road To Salvation.
As you study
the verses below, you will see that this road to God does
not rely on anything
we do but rather relies on the gift
of His grace alone. Romans 10:23 "As
it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: For all
have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God;" We must realize that
every person is born with a sinful nature. We have no righteousness
of our own.
Romans 6:23 "For the
wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our
Lord." Because
of our sin we are subject to death; both physical and spiritual.
Death is a separation, physically from the body and spiritually
from God. Romans 5:8 "But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ
died
for us." God
loved us so much that He gave us His only Son, Jesus, to die
on the cross in a method that would pay for our sin. All we
have to
do is believe! This is where some miss this great gift. They
feel it is just too simple. Surely there is some work man must
do in
order to reach heaven. But eternal life is a "gift".
Ephesians 2:8 "For by
grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:" Remaining
in sin will certainly bring about eternal spiritual death but
accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of your life will bring you
eternal spiritual
life and peace and happiness on earth! Romans 10:9-10 "That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Do
you acknowledge that every person born has sin in their life?
Do you believe in your heart that God gave His Son to die for
your
sin and that three days later God raised Him from the grave?
Then you need to confess your belief in the Lord Jesus aloud.
There
are no other rituals ... there is no other formula. "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." If
you would like to be saved, all you have to do is call upon
the name
of the Lord right now, right in the place where you are. If
you do not know how to pray, you may repeat the words written
below.
"Father,
in heaven, I have sinned against You. Forgive me of my sins.
I receive Jesus
Christ now as my Lord and Savior, accepting
His death on the cross, and the blood that He shed for me to cleanse
me of my sins. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. Thank
You for giving me the gift of eternal life. Amen."
